Nuevo Mexico's Martínez to Miss Season Monday, July 18th , 2061 The season is ending on a bad note for Román Martínez, reliever for the Nuevo Mexico Mariachis. It was announced today that he will miss the rest of the season because of injury. Martínez was hurt against the Vancouver Vipers while throwing a pitch. He suffered an arthritic elbow and will be out for at least 4 months. Running the numbers on Martínez for the year, he has made 7 relief appearances, recorded no saves and compiled a 1-1 won-lost mark with a 1.80 ERA. In pitching 20 innings, he has totaled 18 strikeouts and 9 walks. |
