Screaming Eagles Stop Yong at 25 Sunday, July 29th , 2063 All good things must come to an end -- and so it was today for Shi-xian Yong as he saw his 25-game hitting streak end. He went hitless in 3 at-bats at the hands of the Mercer Island Screaming Eagles. It wasn't all bad for the 24-year-old second baseman and the Nuevo Mexico Mariachis however, as they defeated Mercer Island, 5-1, at Mariachi Band Shell. When asked about his hitting streak, a smiling Yong laughed and said, "I guess my luck ran out today." In 66 games this year, Yong has posted a .314 average and put up these numbers: 4 home runs, 23 RBIs and 41 runs scored. |
