Hejkl Smacks 3 Out of the Park Wednesday, July 19th , 2062 It was a good day for the Crescent City Krewe and an exceptional one for Filip Hejkl. The 23-year-old catcher sent three bombs out of the park to help the Krewe beat the Ithaca Fighting Imps, 13-2, at Field of the Krewe. "When you're in the zone, the game really slows down," Hejkl said when asked about his performance later. "I couldn't even tell you what pitches were thrown. Today feels great, but it is a long season and tomorrow is another day." For the day, he scored 3 times, drove in 7 runs and smacked 3 hits in 4 at-bats. Filip Hejkl hit a two-run home run off Mick Ditka in the 2nd, hit a three-run home run off Iemochi Ueda in the 3rd, grounded out in the 5th, walked in the 6th and hit a two-run home run off Steve Feijoo in the 8th. For the season, Hejkl is batting .312 with 15 hits and 3 home runs. He has scored 8 times and batted in 11. |
