Drake, Harris Suspended for Fracas Tuesday, September 14th , 2060 Yesterday at Baby Thunder Dome Martin Drake and Jeremy Harris got into each other's space and then into each other's face. They began to grapple and fell to the ground. That's when it boiled over into a full-fledged bench-clearing tussle between the Arizona Javelina and St. Petersburg Thunder. Reason finally prevailed as the umpires restored order. After much discussion, only the two major combatants were ejected from the game. Today the league office notified the ballclubs that Drake will have to sit out 3 while Harris would be given a 6-game suspension for their roles in the brawl. This season, Drake is hitting .260 with 4 home runs. Harris has made 5 starts this season, posting 2 wins and 3 losses. Opposing clubs are batting .219 against him and he has 33 strikeouts in 31.2 innings with a 3.98 ERA. |
