Vargas Smashes 3 HR Friday, June 23rd , 2062 Hudsonville third baseman Claudio Vargas blasted three homers at Ballpark of Hughesville in the 9-0 Flanderses victory over the Tulsa Otters. For the game, Claudio Vargas scored 3 times and knocked in 5 runs. When he hit his last home run, his teammates, hearing the crack of the bat, leaped off the bench and rushed on the field to greet the jubilant Vargas when he reached home plate. "It was just one game, but it sure was a lot of fun -- 3-for-5, three roundtrippers and a win," a gleeful Vargas told BNN reporters in a postgame interview. "What a day." Claudio Vargas grounded out in the 1st, hit a solo-shot off Ian Barnes in the 3rd, flied out in the 5th, hit a two-run home run off Tomoyuki Sasaki in the 7th and hit a two-run home run off Eric Graham in the 9th.
