Gross Ups Hit Streak to 20 Consecutive Games Sunday, July 9th , 2062 With 2 hits at Ballpark of Albuquerque, Al Gross added another game to his hitting streak -- the Crowley first baseman has now hit safely for 20 games in a row. But the hitting feat wasn't enough for the Cajuns, as they fell, 3-1, to the Germantown Uruguayans. "Frankly, I don't care about hits," Germantown manager Jamie Scott said later. "I'll let him get 4 hits in 4 at-bats if it means we get a win." Al Gross grounded out in the 1st, flied out in the 4th, singled in the 6th and singled in the 9th. So far this season, Gross is batting .385 with 2 home runs. |
