The future looks extremely bright for George Samuels. At the age of 21, many players are still trying to find their way in USPL Rookie.

Samuels has not only found his way, he's already established himself as one of the game's brightest stars, today being named the winner of the USPL Rookie Most Valuable Player Award.

"I didn't expect to hit .335 this year, that's for sure," the shortstop said.

The Long Island Ducks star also put up a .397 on-base percentage this year, with 138 hits, 19 doubles, 3 triples, 8 home runs, 41 RBIs and 73 runs scored.

He received 10 first place votes, as a unanimous winner. Danny Stone of the Long Island Ducks finished second in voting, while Reynaldo Parriego of the Fort Knox Centennial finished third.
