Cajuns Phil McKinley Down and Out for Year
Saturday, August 20th , 2061
The doctors have spoken and Phil McKinley of the Crowley Cajuns didn't like what he heard. The 20-year-old reliever is almost certainly gone for the rest of the year and depending on his progress could miss some of next season as well. McKinley sustained his season-ending injury during the Fort Knox Centennial game yesterday at Ballpark of Baxter. He had to leave the game because he hurt himself while throwing a pitch. Today the Crowley medical staff reported McKinley had a torn labrum and would be absent from the lineup for at least 8 months.
His stats sheet for the year shows McKinley has managed to hold opponents to a .279 average in 31 relief appearances, while putting up 5-3 record with 25 strikeouts and 11 walks in 34.1 innings. He has a 4.19 ERA with 13 saves.
