Players Suspended in Beavers-Angel Kitties Donnybrook Saturday, August 1st , 2054 Yesterday at Beaver Town Ed Armstrong and Mike Thomas got into each other's space and then into each other's face. They began to grapple and fell to the ground. That's when it boiled over into a full-fledged bench-clearing tussle between the Northwest Territory Beavers and Bethlehem Angel Kitties. Reason finally prevailed as the umpires restored order. After much discussion, only the two major combatants were ejected from the game. Today the league office notified the ballclubs that Armstrong will have to sit out 3 while Thomas would be given a 7-game suspension for their roles in the brawl. For the year Armstrong has hit at a .147 clip with 8 RBIs, 2 home runs and 7 runs scored. Checking out his stats for the season, Thomas has racked up 5 wins and 7 losses in 7 starts, 2.98 ERA and struck out 72 batters in 63.1 innings. |
