Torres Pops 3 Out of the Park Against Rams Wednesday, July 18th , 2063 The old superstition that "bad news comes in threes" certainly came true for the Ladue Rams. Maine second baseman Tony Torres tripled up on the home runs to propel the Sea Dogs to a win, 10-3, at Ballpark of Wellsville. "We had our chances to win the game, but we just didn't come through," Ladue manager Ricardo Varela said. "Torres hit the heck out of the ball." In addition to the homers, Torres collected 4 hits in 5 at-bats, 7 RBIs and scored 3 runs. "Easy swings get you home runs," he said after the game. "I kept telling myself not to press. They have to be nice and easy swings." Tony Torres hit a solo-shot off Duncan Holloway in the 3rd, hit a three-run home run off Duncan Holloway in the 4th, hit a solo-shot off Duncan Holloway in the 6th, hit an RBI double in the 8th and grounded out in the 9th. Currently Torres is batting .274 with 52 hits and 6 home runs. He has knocked in 17 runs and scored 16 times. |
