Watford City Stops Thompson Hit Streak Sunday, July 30th , 2062 The Watford City Trash Pandas got more than the 3-0 victory at Kittie Park -- they also put an end to the 21-game hitting streak of Bethlehem Angel Kitties shortstop Carroll Thompson by holding him without a hit in 4 at-bats. After the game, Thompson seemed more concerned with his team taking the loss than with the demise of his streak. "I had some great looks at some pitches that I should have hit," he said. "I missed some that I shouldn't have swung at. All in all, I wasn't much help with the bat today." So far this season, Thompson has gotten 79 hits in 259 at-bats for a .305 batting average with 15 home runs. His stats include 38 RBIs and 39 runs scored. He has played in 69 games. |
