SA- Best Manager is Acker of the Beavers Sunday, September 22nd , 2058 Robert Acker celebrated a successful season with the Northwest Territory Beavers by hosting team officials and select media at a Northwest Territory area first-class eatery. But when he first came to town, the 2058 USSL Low A Manager of the Year was met with a good measure of skepticism. "Very few people believed in our ballclub when I got here. It just goes to show you that a bunch of talented ballplayers playing together can make any old manager a genius," a modest Acker joked, not fully recognizing his own stature in the baseball community. However, baseball journalists duly noted his managerial skill as he skippered the Beavers to a 68-28 record this year and a first place finish in the Silver Low A. |
