Smith on Fire, 5-for-5 Against Crowley Sunday, July 30th , 2045 Even as a kid, Steve Smith said his coaches told him the key to hitting was making contact, and letting everything else flow from there. At Titans Ballpark today, Smith showed how well he learned that lesson. The 20-year-old center fielder had 5 hits in 5 at-bats for the Moose Jaw Canucks, helping his team knock off the Crowley Cajuns by a score of 11-0. "They always said, just keep your eye on the ball, don't overswing, make contact and you never know what will happen," he said. "That's all I did today." Steve Smith singled in the 3rd, doubled in the 4th, hit a two-run home run off Dave Johnson in the 5th, singled in the 7th and singled in the 8th.
