Shelton on Fire: Burns Long Island with 3 HR Monday, July 27th , 2054 Flint Crush center fielder Arthur Shelton had a magnificent game against the Long Island Ducks today, rocketing three balls out of Ducks Park to help the Crush take the 11-0 victory. "I got some good pitches to hit and I creamed them," he said after the game. "The first was a big, fat fastball and the last two were hanging curves. All three were mistakes." For the game, Shelton went 4-for-4 with 6 RBIs and 3 runs scored. "There's a fine line between hitting home runs and line drives," Flint manager Tim Nelson said later. "Seems like Arthur found his home run stroke today." Arthur Shelton hit a solo-shot off Lorenzo Silva in the 1st, hit an RBI single in the 2nd, hit a three-run home run off Lorenzo Silva in the 4th and hit a solo-shot off Burraga Makuakane in the 6th. For the season, Shelton is hitting at a .260 clip with 14 home runs, 33 RBIs and has scored 28 runs. He has 63 hits, 22 walks and a .330 on-base percentage. |
