Rekha, Xue Suspended for Fracas Wednesday, August 8th , 2063 Yesterday at Ballpark of Robbins Budharatna Rekha and Ching Xue got into each other's space and then into each other's face. They began to grapple and fell to the ground. That's when it boiled over into a full-fledged bench-clearing tussle between the Greenport Harbor Whales and Flint Crush. Reason finally prevailed as the umpires restored order. After much discussion, only the two major combatants were ejected from the game. Today the league office notified the ballclubs that Rekha will have to sit out 4 while Xue would be given a 6-game suspension for their roles in the brawl. So far this season, Rekha has hit .256 with 8 home runs, 22 RBIs and scored 33 times. Currently Xue has a record of 2-2 with 16 strikeouts and 10 walks in 23 innings and a 4.30 ERA. |
