Wilson Booms 3 out of the Park Sunday, September 2nd , 2063 The old superstition that "bad news comes in threes" certainly came true for the Capital Hill Interns. Greenport center fielder Carlton Wilson tripled up on the home runs to propel the Harbor Whales to a win, 9-6, at Alouettes Ballpark. "We had our chances to win the game, but we just didn't come through," Capital Hill manager Evan Groenevelt said. "Wilson hit the heck out of the ball." In addition to the homers, Wilson collected 4 hits in 5 at-bats, 6 RBIs and scored 3 runs. "Easy swings get you home runs," he said after the game. "I kept telling myself not to press. They have to be nice and easy swings." Carlton Wilson hit a two-run home run off Alfonso Francisco in the 1st, hit a solo-shot off Alfonso Francisco in the 3rd, grounded out in the 4th, hit a three-run home run off Yu Zhan in the 6th and singled in the 8th. This year, Wilson is batting .292 with 77 hits and 16 home runs. He has scored 40 times and has batted in 46 runs. |
