Pérez Packs a Wallop -- Hits 3 HR Against Crush
Friday, August 18th , 2062
Juan Pérez brutalized the Flint Crush pitching staff, launching three home runs in the 8-3 Long Island victory at Flint Park. The Long Island Ducks shortstop was red-hot, the ball just exploding off his bat all day.
"I don't try to hit homers," he said later. "I try to go out there and put a good swing on the ball, and sometimes it is going to go out of the park. I didn't try to hit the first one or the second one or the third one."
For the game, he went 3-for-4 with 5 RBIs and 3 runs scored.
"Too much Juan Pérez today," Crush manager Michael Woodard said. "That's my assessment of the game. That's what our problems boiled down to."
Juan Pérez hit a two-run home run off Labaan Makwangwala in the 2nd, hit a two-run home run off Labaan Makwangwala in the 3rd, struck out in the 6th and hit a solo-shot off Sergio Torres in the 8th.
Currently Pérez is hitting .266 and has collected 11 home runs, 44 RBIs and scored 39 times, while playing in 81 games.
