Rainbow Mermaids Ramón Escobar to Miss Year Tuesday, July 13th , 2060 The doctors have spoken and Ramón Escobar of the MSL Northern Virginia Rainbow Mermaids didn't like what he heard. The 19-year-old reliever is almost certainly gone for the rest of the year and depending on his progress could miss some of next season as well. Escobar sustained his season-ending injury during the MSL Ft. Worth Cattlemen game yesterday at MSL Ft. Worth Ballpark. He had to leave the game because he hurt himself while throwing a pitch. Today the MSL Northern Virginia medical staff reported Escobar had a torn ulnar collateral ligament and would be absent from the lineup for at least 10 months. This season, Escobar has accumulated no saves, registered a 1.38 ERA and struck out 11 in 13 innings. He also has a 0-0 record in 7 relief appearances. |
