Scott Rips MSL Toronto for 5 Hits Thursday, August 9th , 2063 After a 5-hit effort to lead MSL Northern Virginia's 14-7 victory over the MSL Toronto Thunder, catcher Joe Scott told BNN beat writers it had been "a special day." "It really doesn't matter whether it's sandlot ball, high school or college, two hits in a game is nice," he said. "Three or four is better, but five or more is out of sight. And to do that at the USPL Mexican Summer League-level is really something special." The 19-year-old player earned his accolades at MSL Thunder Ballpark with a spectacular 5-for-6 game against the Thunder. "His swing is getting there," said Rainbow Mermaids skipper Donald White, who spoke glowingly of Scott after the game. "We want him to be quick with his swing, short and compact. We want him to be patient and go the other way when he can. Joe did that to perfection." Joe Scott doubled in the 1st, hit an RBI single in the 2nd, grounded out in the 4th, singled in the 7th, singled in the 8th and hit an RBI single in the 9th.
