Big Bat Pays Off, Bender Player of the Week Monday, July 22nd , 2058 Swinging a hot stick last week, Tim Bender picked up the USPL Mexican Summer League Player of the Week Award today. The 18-year-old catcher for MSL Northern Virginia lashed 6 hits in 12 at-bats as he put together a .500 average with 2 home runs. Bender also drove in 4 runs, scored 5 times and compiled a .600 OBP. At present, Bender is batting .308 and has collected 3 home runs, 13 RBIs, .386 OBP and scored 13 runs. |
