Rowdy Players Suspended by League Tuesday, September 1st , 2054 After an intense confrontation, both the Rocketeers Gertjan Tijl and the Oaks Pat Wright were handed their punishments today. The league commissioner's office issued suspensions for an on-the-field conflict that occurred at a recent MSL Seattle-MSL Oakland game. Gertjan Tijl will miss 4 games, while Pat Wright was suspended for 9 games. "Sometimes we go too far and have to pay the consequences," Gertjan Tijl commented later. "Hopefully cooler heads will prevail the next time we play." In his stats this season, Tijl has posted a batting average of .234 with 11 hits in 47 at-bats, 1 home run and 7 RBIs. He has also scored 3 runs, walked 4 times and compiled a .321 OBP. This year Wright has fashioned a 5-7 mark, 4.31 ERA and pitched 87.2 innings. Opposing clubs are batting .265 against him and he has logged 80 strikeouts. |
