The future looks extremely bright for Stilwell Gardner. At the age of 19, many players are still trying to find their way in USSL Mexican Summer League.
Gardner has not only found his way, he's already established himself as one of the game's brightest stars, today being named the winner of the USSL Mexican Summer League Most Valuable Player Award.
"I didn't expect to hit .358 this year, that's for sure," the right fielder said.
The MSL Pittsburgh Kingfishers star also put up a .438 on-base percentage this year, with 69 hits, 15 doubles, 1 triple, 16 home runs, 50 RBIs and 41 runs scored.
He received 5 first place votes out of a possible 10. Jason Lowe of the MSL Montana Pandas finished second in voting with 4 first place votes, while James M'Lady of the MSL Pittsburgh Kingfishers finished third with 1 first place vote.
