#1 Player Named by USSL Mexican Summer League Sunday, September 18th , 2061 José Sánchez took USSL Mexican Summer League by storm this year, and he did it all at the age of 19. For his spectacular campaign, the MSL Memphis Mockingbirds star has been named the 2061 USSL Mexican Summer League Most Valuable Player Award recipient. "To be considered amongst the best in the league is overwhelming," said the third baseman. On the season he compiled a .358 batting average to go with a .468 on-base percentage. The native of Fresno, California also added 19 doubles, 3 triples, 15 home runs, 37 RBIs and 58 runs scored. He received 10 first place votes, as a unanimous winner. Jon Bryant of the MSL Memphis Mockingbirds finished second in voting, while Steve Everett of the MSL Detroit Elite finished third.
