Year Ends for Alonso Rivero in MSL Cape Coral Friday, August 24th , 2063 The doctors have spoken and Alonso Rivero of the MSL Cape Coral Hurricanes didn't like what he heard. The 18-year-old second baseman is almost certainly gone for the rest of the year and depending on his progress could miss some of next season as well. Rivero sustained his season-ending injury during the MSL Dayton Dirty Reds game yesterday at MSL Cape Coral Ballpark. He had to leave the game because he hurt himself while throwing the ball. Today the MSL Cape Coral medical staff reported Rivero had a stretched elbow ligament and would be absent from the lineup for at least 6-7 months. This season, Rivero has hit 8 home runs and posted a .272 batting average. |
