It's Over: Knights Stop Asmus
Friday, July 19th , 2058
Dolf Asmus saw his 23-game hitting streak wither and die during the MSL Dayton Dirty Reds win over MSL Kingston Township at MSL Kingston Township Ballpark. The 19-year-old right fielder was held hitless in 4 at-bats by the MSL Kingston Township Knights, but his teammates produced enough offense to win the game, 3-0.
"Am I disappointed about the hit streak? Maybe, just a little bit," a seemingly upbeat Asmus told reporters in the clubhouse. "But really, how could you be unhappy after you hit in 23 straight games? I'm just glad it lasted as long as it did. Life is good."
To date, Asmus has collected 35 hits for a .350 average. He has posted 9 home runs, scored 23 runs and driven in 28 runs.
