Going Once! Twice! Gone Again! 3 HR for Morales
Sunday, September 1st , 2058
MSL Oakland Oaks left fielder Eduardo Morales put on a dazzling display of power at MSL Echo Park Ballpark against the MSL Echo Park Lakers. In the 14-6 Oaks victory, Morales penned his name into the record books, slamming a trio of home runs in one of baseball's finest single-day efforts.
"He can hit them out anywhere, right, center, left, it doesn't matter," MSL Echo Park manager Gabriel Rentería said. "He's super strong and stays on the ball so well."
Along with his three home runs, the 18-year-old had 3 hits in 5 at-bats, 7 RBIs and 3 runs scored.
"Life will always throw you curves, just keep fouling them off," Morales said after the game, when asked about his hitting philosophy. "The right pitch will come, and when it does, be prepared to run the bases. Or trot around them, like I did today."
Eduardo Morales hit a three-run home run off Héctor Aguilar in the 1st, flied out in the 3rd, grounded out in the 4th, hit a solo-shot off Mauro Torres in the 7th and hit a three-run home run off Pedro Reyes in the 9th.
Thus far this season, Morales has hit .298 with 9 home runs, 28 RBIs and scored 24 times.
