Mockingbirds Rally Late to Nip Rocketeers
|
The Memphis Mockingbirds beat the Seattle Rocketeers, 3-2, at Boeing Dome. The Mockingbirds got a fine performance from first baseman Henry White, who went 3-4 with a home run and 2 singles. He drove in 2 runs and scored once. Memphis has won 3 straight, while Seattle has lost 5 in a row.
Memphis used a timely hit from José Roseta to get the win. The center fielder stroked a run-scoring double in the top of the tenth inning to put the Mockingbirds ahead, 3-2. It was his only hit in 1 at-bat, but it made an impact.
"We're in a little bit of a dry spell," said Seattle manager Andrew Powell.
