Kiper III Lifts Rocketeers to 14-9 Triumph
The Seattle Rocketeers defeated the Northern Virginia Rainbow Mermaids, 14-9. Doing his part was catcher Mel Kiper III, who was 3-4 with 2 doubles and a walk, while adding 4 RBI and scoring once. With the win, Seattle has a record of 13-9. Northern Virginia falls to 12-10.

Kiper III contributed in the bottom of the second. With runners on 1st and 2nd, he hit a run-scoring double. It was one at-bat among others that helped Seattle get the win.

"If you were looking for a pitchers' duel," said Kiper III, "this wasn't it."
