The D.C. Divided did little to support starter Will Rogers against the Long Island Lighthouse, but it turned out he didn't need the help.

The right-hander spun a complete game shutout against the Lighthouse, striking out 6 and surrendering 3 hits. The performance from Rogers allowed D.C. to escape with the 2-0 win, despite an anemic offense.

"Nobody came to me and said, 'Will, we're gonna need you to win this one for us today,' but I could feel it," Rogers told BNN reporters following the win. "I'm the guy that will step up for you when you need it."
