Behind an impressive start by Tom Schaefer, Dayton beat Baltimore, 3-2. Mario Pérez finished the game for Dayton and earned his 1st save. The loss lowers the Baltimore record to 8-7.

The Dirty Reds took the lead in the bottom of the third when Fernando Salinas banged a two-out double. Dayton had been trailing 1-0, but Salinas hit a 2-2 changeup from George Hill for a 2-run double.

"Tom made some big pitches when he needed to," said Dirty Reds manager David Dodds.
