Lakers Fall, 10-4, to Porcell, Ponies
|
The Kingston Ponies defeated the Echo Park Lakers, 10-4. Doing his part was third baseman Sean Porcell, who was 3 for 4 with a home run, a triple, and a walk. He scored 2 times and drove in 3. Kingston pitcher Casper Trout got the win, upping his record to 1-0. John Ellis got the loss. Vernon Álvarez finished the game for Kingston and earned his 1st save.
Kingston used a timely hit from Pramana Ananas to get the win. The catcher stroked a 2-run double in the top of the eighth inning to put the Ponies ahead, 6-4. It was his only hit in 5 at-bats, but it was a difference-maker.
"We did more than enough to get the win," said Porcell.
Echo Park now is 11-7.
