Dirty Reds SS Salinas goes 3-for-4 in Win
Dayton and Detroit got after it at Lang Park.

Behind a fine performance from Fernando Salinas, the Dayton Dirty Reds knocked off the Detroit Rock City, 9-3. Salinas went 3-4 with a home run and 2 singles, while scoring 2 and driving in 3 for the Dirty Reds. Dayton starter Glenn Hughes was credited with the win after throwing 104 pitches over 8 innings. His record now stands at 4-0.

The Dirty Reds got an important contribution from first baseman Michael Smith, who in the bottom of the third hit a 1-1 changeup to right-center for a 3-run home run. It was his 2nd home run of the season and put the Dirty Reds ahead, 5-1.

"It was a tough day, no getting around it," said losing manager Kyle Salow.

Dayton, at 14-4, is off to a blistering start.
