Elite Stick Rainbow Mermaids with 3-1 Loss
In a low-scoring affair between the Detroit Elite and the Northern Virginia Rainbow Mermaids, pitcher Yuan Thian was the difference between victory and defeat. The Detroit left-hander earned accolades in the 3-1 Elite win. Jim Hicks earned save number 8 this season. With the win, the Elite sit at 23-7.

Octávio Cruz made an early impact for Detroit when he stroked his 5th triple of the season. The run-scoring triple, which came with no one out in the bottom of the third, put the Elite on top, 2-0.
