The Detroit Rock City picked up a win at Detroit Stadium, dropping the Dayton Dirty Reds, 4-2. José Martínez, who finished 2nd in the 3L in strikeouts with 191 in 2054, was the difference-maker. The Rock City go to 9-22 with the win.

Detroit got a clutch hit from Arturo Garza. The center fielder socked a 3-run home run in the bottom of the ninth inning to win the game. It was his only hit in 5 at-bats, but it was game-ender.

"If we play like this, we can win a lot of games," Garza told the Detroit Observer.
