Seattle Bats Go Silent in 1-0 Loss
The Toledo Stingers eked out a 1-0 win versus the Seattle Rocketeers at Pacesetter Park. Nobody did more than pitcher Mark Garland. He was terrific. Garland, now 1-0, was the winner. In 6 innings, he gave up 4 hits, while striking out 4, walking 1, and allowing no runs. Sam Myers closed it out for his 1st save.

Elijah Smalls was 1 for 3 for Toledo. The 23-year old center fielder had a key at-bat in the bottom of the third. With one out and runners on 2nd and 3rd, he broke a 0-0 tie with a run-scoring sacrifice fly off Brian Folger. It was his 2nd RBI of the season.

Toledo manager David Bunting praised his team's "energy."
