Opening day festivities have begun throughout the league. Fans of the Pawnee ParksNRec were eager to watch Keith Hays square off against Stephen Jones of the visiting Sunset District Fog. In the end, the ParksNRec won the game, 6-3, with Keith Hays leading the way. Hays, the winner, moves to 1-0. He threw 6.1 innings of 4-hit ball, while fanning 6 and giving up 1 walk. Picking up his 1st save was 26-year old right-handed pitcher Alejandro Quintana.
In the bottom of the fourth, Pawnee third baseman Biff Poggi had a productive at-bat. With a runner on 2nd and one out, Poggi stroked a run-scoring single to center. It made the score 1-0, Pawnee. For the game, he was 2 for 4 with 2 singles. He scored 2 times.
"We did a lot of really good things and it was a good win," said ParksNRec manager Jesús Salazar.
