Fans of the Plymouth Rocks who packed the stands for the home opener were rewarded with a Plymouth win over the visiting Sunset District Fog, 2-0. Craig Lucas started for the home team against George Roy. George Roy earned accolades for his performance. Travis Crockett claimed the win after being brought in from the bullpen. The right-hander allowed no runs on 1 hit in 2.1 innings. His record stands at 1-0.

The game was on the line with two out in the top of the eighth inning, but Ensio Helminen didn't flinch. With a runner on 1st and Sunset District trailing 1-0, Helminen retired Carlos García to end the threat. "Nothing to it," said Helminen, with a wink.
