Pace Goes 5-for-5

There aren't many who could be pro ballplayers and there are even fewer who could put up 5 hits in a day.
Dave Pace is one of those rare few, as he went 5-for-5 against the Hialeah Dodos at Spirits Stadium. The monster effort from the 31-year-old first baseman helped the Salt Lake City Buzz get the win, 12-2.
"We made some bad pitches and he took advantage of it," said Dodos manager Albert Pérez. "That's the game, though. Don't make mistakes and you'll win ballgames. Make mistakes and, well, you saw what happened today."
Dave Pace singled in the 1st, singled in the 4th, singled in the 6th, hit an RBI single in the 7th and singled in the 8th.
Pace is batting .328 this year with 8 home runs, 31 RBIs and 34 runs scored. He has 76 hits in 232 at-bats.

Hamilton's Olsen to Miss Season

A blow for Brian Olsen today -- team doctors confirmed he will miss 4 months with a severely strained hip muscle. Olsen suffered the injury running the bases. Although officials from the Hamilton Thunderbirds are confident he'll make a full recovery, doubts will persist about Olsen's ability to return fully fit with an injury of this nature.
Looking at his present stats, Olsen has compiled a .272 batting average in 77 games with a .356 on-base percentage, while hitting 16 home runs and driving in 44 runs.
