Due in large part to shortstop Jesús Casquete, the Ft. Myers Marlins sunk the Port Royal Disaster, 5-4. Casquete went 1-3 with a home run and 2 walks. He scored 2 runs and drove in 2. With the loss, Port Royal falls to 1-2.

The Marlins relied on left fielder Jorge Rodríguez for the game-winning hit. And, in the bottom of the tenth, he delivered, hitting a run-scoring single to seal the deal.

"It was a test of wills," said Ken McDowell, the Ft. Myers skipper. "I'm glad we came out of it with a win."
