The Hamilton Thunderbirds got a stellar effort from pitcher Wilbert Irwin, helping Hamilton score a win over the visiting Port Royal Disaster, 3-2. In 5.2 innings, Irwin surrendered 5 hits, while striking out 4 and walking 5. He allowed 1 run. Sam Malone was credited with the save for Hamilton, his 1st of the season.

With scoring opportunities rare, the Thunderbirds had to cash in when they had the chance.
