Port Royal got a strong outing from Bobby Vaughn as the Disaster defeated the Hamilton Thunderbirds, 4-2, at Coyote Wildlife Refuge. Vaughn got the win, improving to 1-0. He gave up 4 hits and walked 2 over 6 innings. He allowed 2 runs. With the loss, Hamilton falls to 1-3.
Port Royal needed the clutch hitting of Keith Flint to seal the deal. The catcher swatted a 2-run home run in the top of the seventh inning to put the Disaster on top, 3-2. For the game, Flint had 1 home run and 1 single in 4 at-bats.
