The Port Royal Disaster besoiled an otherwise fine performance by Hialeah first baseman Michael Smith by beating the Dodos, 5-2, at Ballpark of Port Royal. Smith was 2-4 with a home run and a walk. Danny Dean earned the win after being brought in from the bullpen. The left-hander allowed no runs on 3 hits in 3.1 innings. His record is now 1-0. Pepe Aguilar picked up the save for Port Royal, his 2nd of the year.

The Disaster got a big hit from center fielder Jeremy Blanchard. Facing Hialeah pitcher Damon Colcott in the bottom of the sixth, Blanchard pounded a 2-run triple to right-center. His 1st triple of the season put the Disaster ahead, 5-2.

Port Royal manager called it "a good, solid win."

Hialeah now has a record of 2-2.
