The Austin Black Mambas eked out a 3-2 win versus the Santa Barbara Golden Cranes at Crane Field. Nobody did more than pitcher Herman Clayton. He was terrific. With the loss, Santa Barbara sinks to 2-3.

Who knows how it might've ended, had it not been for Mike O'Kennelly? The Austin right fielder had a run-scoring double in the top of the third inning to put the Black Mambas on top, 2-1. For the game, O'Kennelly had 1 double and 1 single in 4 at-bats.

After the game, Austin manager Tony Torres applauded the team's effort. "They busted their tails out there," he said.
