The Austin Black Mambas got a superb performance from pitcher Edemona Babitu, but the Santa Barbara Golden Cranes still won the game, 6-4. Babitu threw 9.0 innings of 7-hit ball. Santa Barbara reliever Ronald Johnson picked up the win to move to 1-0. Eric Ramírez suffered the loss. The win lifts Santa Barbara to a record of 3-3.

The game ended with a bang. In the bottom of the 11th, with Santa Barbara trailing 4-3, Bradley Whaley jumped on a 1-2 cutter from Eric Ramírez for a 3-run home run, sending the Golden Cranes to a walk-off win.

"It's a satisfying feeling, to win like we did," said Whaley.
