The Sunset District Fog took Hartford pitcher Anthony Hines's best shot and still were able to claim a win at Pride Park. The final score had Sunset District getting past the Pride, 2-1. Hines went 8 innings and allowed 2 runs, striking out 5. Alex Rodríguez claimed the win after being brought in from the bullpen. The right-hander allowed no runs on no hits in 2 innings. His record stands at 1-0. After losing, Hartford is 3-3.
Sunset District used the timely hitting of Iván Vargas to seize the win. The catcher stroked a run-scoring single in the top of the ninth inning to put the Fog on top, 2-1. It was his only hit in 4 at-bats, but it was a game-changer.
"It wasn't a very good day at the ballpark," said Hartford manager Tim Fowler.
