Port Royal turned a good performance from starting pitcher Curley Martha into a 3-2 triumph over the Hudson Bay Redwoods at Ballpark of Port Royal. Martha yielded no runs over 7 innings to notch the win. He scattered 2 hits, walked 5, and struck out 4. His record improves to 1-0. Bryan Hall earned the save for Port Royal, his 3rd.

Port Royal second baseman Arnold Crane contributed a timely at-bat in the bottom of the fourth. With two down, he hit a fastball to right-center field for a 2-run single. It was his 5th hit of the season and put the Disaster ahead, 2-0.

"We put a lot of pressure on ourselves," Martha told a Port Royal Citizen reporter. "Sometimes we just need to relax."
