The Hialeah Dodos did just enough to sneak past the Hamilton Thunderbirds, 3-2, at Coyote Wildlife Refuge. Hialeah pitcher Lonnie Slaughter, in particular, had a standout performance. The win puts Hialeah at 6-4.

Hialeah used the hitting of Graeme Wilshaw to pick up the win. The right fielder clubbed a run-scoring single in the top of the eighth inning to put the Dodos on top, 3-2. For the game, Wilshaw had 1 home run and 1 single in 4 at-bats.

"We faced good pitching and still got it done," said Wilshaw.
