Vermont turned a good effort from starter Joe Gunn into a win over the Syracuse Squirrel Monkeys at The Zoo in Syracuse. The final score was 4-2. Gunn got the win, improving to 1-0. He gave up 2 hits and walked 4 over 6 innings. He allowed 1 run. Daniel Ricciardo finished the game for Vermont and earned his 3rd save.
Bob Hawkins, who was drafted in the 2nd round of the 2048 draft, had a direct impact on the outcome. Hawkins contributed a run-scoring single in the top of the fourth inning to put Vermont up, 1-0.
"What we get, we earn," Gunn told the Vermont News.
With the win, Vermont lifts its record to 6-4.
