Dodos Deal Thunderbirds 5-1 Defeat
|
The Hialeah Dodos picked up a win at Coyote Wildlife Refuge, topping the Hamilton Thunderbirds, 5-1. On the mound for Hialeah was left-hander Dean Bradley. He played a principal role in the triumph. The loss makes Hamilton 3-8.
Who knows how it might've ended, had it not been for Jon Melanson? The Hialeah first baseman had a run-scoring double in the top of the first inning to put the Dodos on top, 1-0. For the game, Melanson had 1 double and 1 single in 5 at-bats.
"If you pitch well, you give yourself some opportunities," said Hialeah manager Billy Strauss.
