The Austin Black Mambas beat the Monongahela Monsters, 6-5, at Mamba Park. Albert Morgan, in particular, was impressive. He went 3-4 with 3 singles. He drove in 2 runs and scored once. Mark Hodge, the winning pitcher, is now 2-0. He went 6.1 innings, allowing 5 runs on 7 hits, while fanning 2 and walking 2. Now 9-3, the 2057 Black Mambas have been sensational so far.

Tied up with the Monsters in the bottom of the fifth inning, the Black Mambas got a boost from second baseman Dai-lin Yen. With the bases loaded, Yen saw a full count changeup from Carlos Vázquez and hit a 2-run single to break the stalemate and put Austin on top, 6-4.

"It wasn't our best performance," said Morgan, "but a win in this league is nothing to sniff at."
