Redwoods Shut Out Dodos, 1-0
|
The Hialeah Dodos and Hudson Bay Redwoods provided some drama for the home crowd.
The Hudson Bay Redwoods beat the Hialeah Dodos, 1-0. Hudson Bay pitcher and Villa del Rosario, Venezuela, native Mauro Ramos led the way. Walliyullah Brown recorded his 3rd save for Hudson Bay.
The Redwoods got a big at-bat from first baseman Peyton Cummings. For the game, Cummings went 1 for 4 with a double. In the bottom of the sixth, with a runner on 2nd, he stroked a run-scoring double. His 5th double of the season gave Hudson Bay a 1-0 lead.
"Some games build character," said Hudson Bay manager Alfonso Núñez. "Like this one."
Hudson Bay goes to 8-5.
