Diggins Lifts Dodos to 8-6 Win
A good performance from left fielder Rover Diggins helped the Hialeah Dodos defeat the Vermont Lake Monsters, 8-6. Diggins went 3-3 with a triple, a double, and 2 walks. He scored 2 runs and drove in 2 for the Dodos. Lonnie Slaughter earned the win after being brought in from the bullpen. The right-hander allowed no runs on 2 hits in 1.2 innings. His record is now 1-2. Yu-eh Wang earned the save, his 2nd.

Hialeah used the clutch hitting of Mariano Juderías to snag the win. The right fielder drilled a grand slam home run in the top of the ninth inning to put the Dodos ahead, 8-6. It was his lone hit in 4 at-bats, but it was a crucial one.

"We came out with clear minds and swung the bats well," said Hialeah manager Albert Pérez.

Vermont now has a record of 8-5.
