The Monongahela Monsters beat the Nashville Hot Chickens, 4-3. Monongahela designated hitter and Issaquah, Washington, native David White led the way. White, now 2-1, was the winner. In 7.2 innings, he gave up 7 hits, while striking out 3, walking 0, and allowing 2 runs. The save was credited to Jack Herer, his 3rd.
Mark King, who is tied for 8th in the 3AAA in RBI with 10, aided the Monongahela cause with a run-scoring walk in the bottom of the second. For the game, the right fielder was 1 for 3 with a double and a walk.
Nashville manager Ward Wilberfoss said he was "mildly disappointed" with the loss. "We had our opportunities, but we didn't take advantage of them," he said.
The win puts Monongahela at 8-5.
