The Hartford Pride beat the Hialeah Dodos, 7-0. Hartford pitcher and Welby, Colorado, native Rudy Savage led the way. Savage got the win, improving to 2-0. He gave up 5 hits and walked 2 over 5 innings. He allowed no runs. The win takes Hartford to 9-5.

The Pride got a big boost from shortstop Tsuneyo Hirata who had a run-scoring walk in the bottom of the first inning off Dodos hurler Steve King. It was his 5th walk of the season and put Hartford on top, 1-0.

"There's never a lack of effort in our clubhouse. We're willing to do the little things to get the win," Savage told the Hartford Daily.
