|
Sunset District center fielder Ricardo González had a good game in a losing cause. His team fell, 6-4, to Hialeah at Fog Park. González was 2 for 3 with 2 singles and 2 walks. Josh Martin, the winning pitcher, is now 1-1. He went 6 innings, allowing 4 runs on 9 hits, while fanning 5 and walking 4. Carl van Bekenes earned save number 3 this season.
Hialeah used a well-timed hit by Dolf Asmus to capture the win. The left fielder socked a bases-clearing double in the top of the sixth inning to put the Dodos ahead, 6-4. Though it was his only hit in 5 at-bats, it was important.
"If we play well, we'll win our share of games," said Asmus. "The only team that can beat us is us."
Hialeah is now 8-6.
